Copyright & DMCA Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Crafta hosts creations built by our users. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our creators to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing material.
The gist
If someone published your work on Crafta without permission, tell us and we will take it down.
Filing a takedown notice
To request removal of content that infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated copyright agent that includes all of the following (per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list if there are several)
The URL of the creation on crafta.app that you believe infringes it (for example, crafta.app/app/…)
Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
Your physical or electronic signature
Send notices to our designated copyright agent: dmca@crafta.app (subject line "DMCA takedown"). You can also flag a creation in-app with the Report button (reason: copyright) — but a complete DMCA notice by email is what starts the formal process.
Please note: under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing.
What happens next
The gist
Valid notice in, content comes down promptly; the creator is told why and can counter-notify.
When we receive a complete notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the creator who published it, including a copy of the notice. Multiple reports may also unlist a creation from the public gallery automatically while our team reviews it.
Counter-notification
If you believe your creation was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to dmca@crafta.app containing:
Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
Your name, address, and telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district in which Crafta may be found, if outside the US)
Your physical or electronic signature
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we forward it to the original complainant. Unless they notify us within 10-14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers, and we may remove all of a repeat infringer's published creations.
Other complaints
For content that is objectionable but not a copyright issue — harassment, hate, scams, or anything else that breaks the rules — use the Report button on any creation, or see our Content Policy. Reports are confidential and do not require an account.
